Renew passport

Please can anyone advise. If my passport runs out on 26 December and I've booked a holiday to Spain to return on 05 June, do I need to renew it or am I still safe within the 6 months expiry

Spain is in the Schengen so assuming you have a full British passport you only need 3 months left. Do check the issue date though too…

Yes, that sounds fine.

The rules are that: your passport should be valid for at least 3 months after the date you intend to leave the EU and it must have been issued within the last 10 years.

So, you're fine on the first count but you'll need to check the issue date of your passport for the second point.

Honestly, I'd just renew it now.

It’s date of issue not expiry date that’s relevant.

I've just done a checker thing on tui website and it's said I need to renew. I think I would have done anyway to be safe. Thanks for replying
