Horrible virus - how to shift?

I’m on day 6 today and I really need to get better. Started with dry cough /sore throat /fever and chills and now it’s turned into almost constant nausea (like morning sickness except I’m def not pregnant), feeling faint, headaches and absolutely no energy. I have 3 kids, an elderly mum who I help look after and a DH who is due to have a colonoscopy later this week. I can’t afford to take any more time up in convalescence. How can I shake this off quickly?

Sounds like Covid, which I have at the moment. I have vulnerable parents I look after which is why I tested.
Keep eating if you can, lots of liquids and keep topped up on paracetamol/ibuprofen.
Get well soon.

There's really no way to get better quicker. You'll just have to treat the symptoms. We all had an awful illness in December, 2 weeks until we were back to normal although noticeably better after a week.

It's likely you'll ignore this, however the quickest way to recover is to fully rest. Pushing yourself to do stuff when you have all those virus symptoms will just make it harder for your body to recover. It's a nasty and widespread virus, I'm at the end of week three and just starring to be able to go out for short walks, vacuum my home and cook myself nourishing meals.

Oh wow 3 weeks … that’s awful! You poor thing!
I am just about coping by taking frequent naps but I’m not getting much done. Thank goodness the kids are still well and going to school. That’s my worst case scenario one or more of them catching this while I’m still incapacitated!

DH had D&V two weeks ago and seems recovered so I’m hoping that was the current bug and he’ll not re catch it so he can have his procedure on Thursday.

Also I realised I have some anti sickness meds left from when I had dizziness with a blocked ear last year. I’m wondering if they would allow me to eat something as I just can’t stomach anything as it is?

Hot baths with vaporub and magnesium salts. Rest. On Day 10 here. Got a secondary bacterial infection and had to take antibiotics
