D-C-Fix Vinyl Wrap

Lots of people on Instagram revamping their kitchens by wrapping old kitchen cupboards in vinyl wrap. Has anyone actually done this and did it (a) look good and (b) last? It looks great on Insta and the vinyl wrap is cheap so something I can actually afford to do but I’m worried I’ll trash my old but functional kitchen if I try it.

I have used it on rubbish window sills and it looks great 5 years on, just make sure all air bubbles are out.

What colour are your cupboards?

Painting the cupboards might be a better option.

I covered a couple of cheap Ikea side tables. They’ve lasted okay but they’re only lightly used. Whether it would last in a kitchen, I’m not sure. I think it would peel off again fairly easily though if it didn’t work out

My cupboards are a pine effect melamine finish. Not sure they can be painted given how smooth the surface is.

I think it highly depends on the context. I have covered my work desk with one, a few years on and it's only just getting marked.

I used it on my kids' IKEA table and it got trashed so quickly.

So no, I wouldn't use it on a kitchen worktop. But my work desk looks amazing!

I covered my kitchen worktop with it as a stop gap measure and they're still going strong 5 years later (still need to replace because the actual wood around the sink is failing). Daughter did her kitchen doors in DC fix and they look amazing.
