Stressing - late ETSA application

DD is off to New York with her 6th form Friday morning. Totally forgot to do the ESTA application and have just sent it off.
Came back saying it was under review and may take up to 72 looooong stressful hours.

Anyone know if it ever takes this long? My nerves can't cope.

I applied for my boss on Wednesday last week and it was back approved Thursday morning. They say you have to apply 72 hours before departure so this should be fine.

mine always need a review, no idea why, but always come back in a couple of hours.

I messed up one year and did the application for 3 of us at check in....(don't ask!!) It was fine and came through within minutes.

Should be fine. My friend forgot & did hers the day before.

I do lots for work. They aren’t instant any more unless the applicant has also global entry but still I’ve never known one take more than 24 hours. If it’s Friday then I’m confident she’ll be fine!

Was just about to post when I saw your update - I applied for ours this afternoon and they came back within about an hour.

I had to do it at short notice due to family emergency.
I got the 72 hours message and was besides myself but it came through the following morning

Blimey, school trips have moved on haven’t they? We had to make do with the Cutty Sark 😂😂 on a serious note though, glad it’s back.
