Does anyone know if estate agents charge for probate valuations? If so, how much?

They don’t tend to as they anticipate you may instruct them in the sale.

if you are only getting estate agent valuations you should get 3.

alternatively if the estate is likely to be paying IHT you should get a RICS surveyor’s formal valuation to avoid dispute with HMRC.

valuations should be in accordance with s160 IHTA.

don’t undervalue as this could cause a CGT issue if the property is sold.
