Who did I see?

I saw someone who I know was well-known, years ago, but I don't know who he is. Every now and then he'll come to mine and I wonder.

It was about 2002, in a bar at the Royal Festival Hall in London. He was South Asian, small and bent over, as though he had a rather extreme scoliosis. He was wearing a black cape. He was about 50 years old, I think. He was walking with a sort of Zimmer frame/trolley thing.

Lots of people seemed to recognise him.

Any idea who it could be? I'm thinking a writer, but I don't know.

He was completely bent over and was clearly disabled. He seemed very short and was covered by the cape.

Come to mind, not mine!
