Passport application on line

needhelpwiththisplease · 26/01/2025 11:24

Quick questions for a passport renewal.
Is it easy on line?
Can I start the application and then save it if needs be?
Is it easy to upload photos?
I don't know why I'm so anxious about doing it online but it works out cheaper so I'm going with it

Super easy, yes. Did mine before Xmas and it took less than 10 mins. Can't remember if you can save it but you don't really need to.

BabysittersClub · 26/01/2025 11:27

Yes it's really easy, especially the photo part.

I can't remember if you can save it as you go along as it's so quick I didn't need to.

BashfulClam · 26/01/2025 11:28

It is really quick. I got my photos done at timpdons and they check to make sure they are acceptable then give you a code. You pop that code into your application and it pulls the photos through. Because it was a renewal with a name change the site led me to the next relevant part and skipped the n/a bits. I got it back in under a week. All shiny in my married name!

SunshinDay · 26/01/2025 11:29

Yes and I'm awful with tech. It took about 6 days to come back
Re photo make sure it's really well o

It's so simple, you don't need to save it. I got a photo code/photo through snappy snaps. It was easy to upload.

Have a text to confirm my old passport has been received.

Not It's a matter of waiting. Fingers 🤞.

mindutopia · 26/01/2025 11:32

It’s easy. Get the photos done for you somewhere so you get the online code that you just add to your application.

needhelpwiththisplease · 26/01/2025 11:32

@RosesAndHellebores do I need to return old passport?

OP posts:
RosesAndHellebores · 26/01/2025 11:35

Yes you have to post it back. They give you a code which is included in the address, once you have submitted the application.

Passport renewal: £88
Photos £15.99
Secure delivery for new p'port £5
Special delivery to send old p'port £8.65

It all adds up.

BabysittersClub · 26/01/2025 11:59

I just took the photos on my phone. When you attach them it tells you if they are good enough.

user2848502016 · 26/01/2025 12:04

So easy yes. Mine was back in 8 days when I did an online renewal

I took photos on my phone and posted my old passport in a post box rather than pay extra in the post office.

Me too and I didn't pay extra for my new passport to be delivered either.

RosesAndHellebores · 26/01/2025 12:12

I’m not prepared to take risks with my passport.

WildAndFree123 · 26/01/2025 12:15

It’s super easy online and mine arrived 6 days after I applied.

mitogoshigg · 26/01/2025 12:38

@dementedpixie same here, no point paying extra unless you are in a hurry

needhelpwiththisplease · 26/01/2025 13:20

Thanks everyone.
I've just completed my application and just used my phone for a photo
