Something on the TV today that there's been a real effort to keep kids out of the judicial system.

Well clearly that insanity needs to stop.

It wont stop, years and years of research identifies that it lowers risk to society to keep children out of the justice system.

I grew up/live not far from the area it happened.

It's really sad and has put a lot of fear into children/parents especially.

The West Midlands has the highest knife crime rate in the UK.

I found this really upset me. I can only imagine the sadness his family must be feeling. One way or another knife crime has to stop. That young boy sadly is no longer with his family and friends.
