Sweating at night

Stupid question, night sweats is it an all over body sweating situation which the name suggests?

I’ve been getting warm at night and like to sleep with the window open. I wake around 1-2am and inbetween by chest (boobs) it’s soaking. I’ve noticed a bit in my back too but not as often. Is this classed as night sweats as it seems localised?

Any hints / tips other than just showering?

Mine are usually all over, but I don't know if it needs to be to qualify, if you see what I mean!

I keep clean pjs next to the bed so I can change quickly if needs be, and a thin fleece blanket nearby to put under me if the sheets are damp. I can then get back to sleep quickly and deal with it in the morning.

Mine don't seem to correlate with room temperature - I'll just wake up cold and damp all over. Thankfully I don't get them too often - every few weeks.

Thanks, I don’t know if I’m peri yet, I wondered if this is how it starts and gets worse. But others have said it’s more all over which is why I was confused.

Thanks for the tips! I will make a note

This was my only menopause symptom and it was affecting my sleep quality so I went onto a low dose of HRT.
It did the trick and largely I sleep well except when stressed about work or a family issue. The sweating issues are gone!

TMI

But mine can either be all over or focused on underboobs, armpits and groin.

I keep changes of PJ close and a towel to put under me.

HRT has helped.

Night sweats can be symptom of many things, including infections like Covid.

I was getting that on some medication (amitriptyline).

Ahhh this is interesting thank you! If I remember next time I wake up I will double check it’s not in other areas.

it’s been ongoing for 6 months ish but not always consistently every night. Periods have got slightly longer (28 to 33 CD) but still regular
