Hosting international students

Hello,

Not having much uptake in renting our spare room out and wanted to look into other options to help us fill the room.

Does anyone have any experience with hosting? I've had a little google but have no idea where to find reputable website or how different it will be to our usual lodgers.

Would love to hear from you if you have done this or something similar

I know a couple who do this, and they seem to have some sort of contract or agreement with a local college that international students attend. Would it
be worth getting in touch with your local
college/Uni to see if they’re looking for local residents to host students? Hosting seems to be a bit more than just being a landlady - the couple I know take on a bit of a befriending role and show the students around, welcome them into the family and offer support to help then settle. Good luck.

Yeah from what I have read there is an expectation to offer regular meals too.
