Can you move on from ( relatively small) things quickly

I have an unfortunate tendancy to over think, ruminate and worry. If an activity isn't quite right, I'll dither and worry about stopping. These things are supposed to be pleasurable and life enhancing as I'm semi retired.
I think it's an old fashioned mindset to want to not let people down, to stay the course and so on.

Look up the sunk cost fallacy. Learning about this really helped me!

I'm a firm believer that the mind can only concentrate fully on one thing at a time. If you ruminate and worry about something, it becomes your main focus. Reassure yourself that all will be ok, then switch that thought to something lighter, something that makes you smile. It's not a 'cure all', but I find it helps me immensely.
