Dorset mini break

We have a mini break booked for next weekend for DH birthday. We are taking our two DC and had planned to go to splashdown in Poole but it’s shut for engineering work. Is there anything similar that we could visit? DC and (big kid!) DH wanted a water park style outing whilst we were there. If not what can you recommend for a nice day out for a ten and nine year old? Thank you x

Romsey rapids? Not sure how close it is.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is a good day out with kids.

Also fossil hunting 😬

Depends how far you want to travel and where you’re staying, but Jurassic Fun Centre (near West Bay) was open to the public when we used to live there.

Bournemouth pier?
They have an indoor centre with clip n climb climbing , indoor caving and high ropes. My children liked saying they had been caving on a pier!

This is the place I was waffling about up thread https://rockreef.co.uk/

Mine had a lot of fun there, we got the full package and they loved it, but you can select individual activities

There's also an aquarium just near the pier so it can make quite a good day out

I think there's an indoor skate park somewhere in Poole /Bournemouth too?

RockReef Indoor Climbing Activity Centre on Bournemouth Pier

Located on Bournemouth Pier, RockReef Activity Centre offers fun for all ages, including 28 climbing walls, adrenaline challenges & PierZip.
