Getting my ears pierced

I keep on going round and round on this so decided to put it to the vote! I got my ears pierced when I was 18. They never healed properly (but I also wore cheap earrings) so after a few years I gave up. I am now in my fifties and would love to wear earrings but am scared of that happening again and really do not want horrible crusty earlobes. 😜 Is that likely? If I do it again, which way is better? Would love to hear your experiences.

Def find a proper piercing studio and you’ll be great

The best way would be getting pierced with a needle and wearing Titanium Jewelry. Keep your posts at least for 3 months and even after that wear earrings 24/7 for a year so that they won't close.

DO NOT GO TO CLAIRE'S (or similar)

Get yourself to a decent piercing studio where they'll do it with needles

I was in exactly the same position and had the same anxieties , Pierced as a child with a gun and cheap earrings and never healed properly. I had my piercings redone 18 months ago with a needle , only wearing solid gold jewellery and had no issues , so much so I’ve had two further piercings in one ear .
