Her husband is working 2 full time jobs remotely. They live in the UK, so he works one in the day and then one which is US timezone. But there is crossover. Is it me or does this seem, I don’t know, fraudulent ?

Nothing to do with you.

Housebuy1 · 21/01/2025 20:53

What does it matter to you? There is nothing you can do, it doesn’t impact you.

amber763 · 21/01/2025 20:53

Mind your own business.

TickleMyPickle · 21/01/2025 20:53

Why does it matter to you? You don’t sound like the kind of friend I would want to have.

vodkaredbullgirl · 21/01/2025 20:53

And, what is it to you?

LadyKenya · 21/01/2025 20:54

Honestly, why would it matter anyway? I would not care at all.

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 21/01/2025 20:54

This thread is not going to go well for you @FairieCastel 😬

TankFlyBossWalkJamNittyGrittyIAmFromAMidSizeCity · 21/01/2025 20:55

Why is it fraudulent?

If he's completing all the work in both jobs then thers no issue at all.

joysexreno · 21/01/2025 20:56

Yes, it sounds fraudulent and unethical. It's probably against both companies' policies.

GeekyDiva80 · 21/01/2025 20:57

Lots if people have a main job and a side hustle, or two jobs. It doesn't matter if they crossover, as long as their employers are happy with their work.

MsMarch · 21/01/2025 20:57

Sounds very stressful to me. With very long hours.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 21/01/2025 20:58

It must be fraudulent, bet neither company knows. It is a thing though, a whole topic on reddit dedicated to mupltie full time jobs working from home.

Exactly. I don't see the issue.

Completelyjo · 21/01/2025 20:59

Plenty of remote jobs are set to the hour but overall the tasks that are completed for the day.

If I had a friend working 2 full time jobs I would be more concerned for their physical and mental health than I would be about how i could make things harder from them.

You have no idea what the inns and outs of his contracts are.

Why does it sound fraudulent or unethical? Many people work 2 jobs to make ends meet.
You have no idea what his contract stipulates.

poemsandwine · 21/01/2025 21:02

Did you tell your friend what you think or just come to the Internet to basically accuse them of fraud without any information at all?

MermaidMummy06 · 21/01/2025 21:05

It's not uncommon to work two jobs. I'd be more concerned he's going to burn out, or get found out - providing the employers are even unaware! They might have agreed to it (unlikely), so that depends on if it's fraudulent or not.

I've seen far worse fraudulent activity in the workplace!

FairieCastel · 21/01/2025 21:16

Oh, gosh I didn’t mean for it to come across as badly as it did! Totally take that on the chin and yes none of my business.

I guess I was more just curious as to how it worked that’s all.

Will keep my nose out.

Thanks for the head wobble.

WilfredsPies · 21/01/2025 21:27

It did sound very much like you were wanting validation and encouragement to report them to their employer. Which would have been an utterly shameful thing to have done.

Nobody works two full time jobs for fun, so poor bloody sod that he’s having to do it. I couldn’t.

OMGitsnotgood · 21/01/2025 21:31

It's only an issue if there is a conflict of interest. Otherwise it's someone just working very hard to support his family

Glad you’re keeping out of it. I must say, your OP didn’t come across as though you were just or even at all curious about the logistics of how it might work.

CoastalCalm · 21/01/2025 21:32

it would be interesting to know if the companies are aware of this

SherbertLemons · 21/01/2025 21:33

This is actually a thing. It's called "over employed". Seen lots of videos about people doing two jobs at the same time (until they get caught I guess).

Sadly, I wouldn't have the balls (or the capacity as one job keeps me busy enough!), but many do

StasisMom · 21/01/2025 21:35

Don't they know from tax codes?

FairieCastel · 21/01/2025 21:39

@WilfredsPies oh no not at all I can see how it came across like that though. Fraudulent was a bad choice of words. It was more curiosity around 1. How they manage it employer side and 2. Logistically how it even works.

But yes, not my business

Just found the over employed Reddit! Interesting read!
