Post Vaccination redness?

My son had his preschool vaccinations yesterday, his arm looking like this now, it’s boiling hot and sore to touch.

Does this look like normal post vaccine redness or need to be checked?

I don’t think that’s normal, no. As long as he is well in himself, I would wait til the morning to see how it looks. Give him some piriton. If still red tomorrow, I’d give the GP a call.

I'd call 111, that's not normal.

Could you also draw around the red area so it is easier to tell if it's changed

I remember being told any rash bigger than a 50p coin should get looked at. That looks bigger than that so I'd get it checked out.

My younger DD had this reaction both times she had her jabs. It resolved quickly when she was 12 weeks but at pre school level she needed antibiotics. Get it checked

It is worse this morning. We have a GP appt at 11.30.

It is not all that usual, but redness is one of possible post vaccination symptoms.

Thank you for checking in. He is on antibiotics for cellulitis.

Hope it clears up quickly and he's feeling okay.
