Tax Return Advice

Just curious if anyone here can help me.
I’m not sure if I need to complete a Tax Return. I am a full time employed NHS nurse (£37000 salary), no second job, no other income, jointly own the house we live in, no other property, no significant savings (approx £10K)

I was payed a £250 honorarium for joining the faculty on a 1 day course at another hospital trust. I am not employed by them. Do I need to fill in a tax return for this?

Obviously I know no one can give me legal or financial advice but has anyone been in a similar situation.
Thanks.

You can earn £1,000 of miscellaneous income without incurring tax.

You don't have to do a tax return.

Definitely don't need to, as above.

So, that’s how I understood it and that’s what my husband said but I just wanted to double check! Thanks

HMRC will contact you I think if you do. I had a letter on Christmas Eve telling me I needed to do one. I got £1300 back but the accountant wants £1200 for dount it!
