I would actually like a rational explanation for this...

Following on from the clock incident it's been pretty quiet.

Until this week.

I have a craft room that is at the furthest point of the house in what was the granny annex which I've now commandeered. To get there you have to pass through 4 other rooms ( it's an odd layout). Only one way in and out. It's also locked off and an alarm set when I'm not there and I'm the only one who goes in there other than DP and even he only comes in when invited!

I was in there yesterday and spilt some water so I went to grab some kitchen roll from the window sill to mop it up when I spotted blood stains on the curtain and on the paper roll. They had not been there the day before.Of that I am absolutely certain

I have not cut myself ( neither had DP for the record) and I've been the only one in there... The window is locked and covered by CCTV. We have had no visitors ( not that they would have gone in).

Now I'm pretty chilled about the strange things that happen in this house but this I really don't like.

I would actually like a rational explanation for this...

My money would be on rodents, but that's not a massively fun or relaxing explanation! 😬

Openmouthinsertfood · 21/01/2025 03:24

It almost looks like cat claws on the curtain. Is there any way one could have got in? I hope you find out what happened, if only to put your mind at rest. Flowers

canigetarepp · 21/01/2025 04:18

what kind of craft...could it be paint??

PreferMyAnimals · 21/01/2025 04:59

It doesn't look like blood to me. More like stain or paint.

coldscottishmum · 21/01/2025 05:11

My cat once fell in someone’s general waste bin and cut his paw.
It was like a blood bath in my kitchen - it was obviously the cat because of paw prints. Is there any possibility an injured bird has gotten inside? Any blood on the window or elsewhere in the house?

CatherinedeBourgh · 21/01/2025 05:14

I found blood all over the inside of a kitchen cabinet once. Turns out that steel wool will not stop a truly determined rodent, but will damage their paws and make them bleed.

littleblackcat247 · 21/01/2025 05:17

It's a ghost bleeding everywhere - obvs

Chuchoter · 21/01/2025 05:44

Doesn't look like blood.

sashh · 21/01/2025 05:56

It looks like it has dropped down, is there a leak in the ceiling?

Elphame · 21/01/2025 10:52

Ok - here you go. Hope I haven’t missed anything

No sign of rodents.

Nothing on ceiling

Definitely blood - it looks like an old blood stain even though it’s not been there more than 12 hours when the picture was taken.

No paint in room nor anything else like it

No way a cat could have got in. I have terriers and no cat would venture into our garden let alone the house! Dogs are banned from this room and couldn’t get up on the windowsill anyway

No bloodstains anywhere else and it’s a pale carpet so any injured animal would have left a trail if indeed one could get in which isn’t really possible. It’s so cold here the house is sealed tight!

I’ve turned the roll upside down so I don’t have to keep seeing it!

Take a pair of scissors or a knife and cut out the stain then you can keep using the roll and don’t have to see it anymore.

the sheets will look a little wonky but still usable
