I don't mean to boast but I've gone from drinking 6 cans of coke a day to drinking.... none!

And I have to shout it from the roof tops because I've tried so many times to bail this habit and it's now been 3 weeks without any 😃 it's a small win for me but I'm so proud of myself

Well done 👍

Sanch1 · 20/01/2025 21:52

Well done! I've managed to cut my Coke Zero intake from about 6/7 cans a day to 2 since Christmas so I'm pretty pleased with that 😊

Bunnie007 · 20/01/2025 21:52

Oh well done I was on a can a day and haven’t had any since early January so know how hard it is to give up! Let’s keep going 👍🏻

hexsnidgett · 20/01/2025 21:52

That's great, think of the money! What will you treat yourself to?

ReformMyArse · 20/01/2025 21:53

Well done. I wasn’t as bad but definitely addicted and don’t crave it at all now. I can have a dc in the pub and not be back on it.

UkuleleRose · 20/01/2025 21:53

As a Coke-aholic myself, well done!

Iwishiwasapolarbear · 20/01/2025 21:54

How? I drink 2/3 cans of Diet Coke a day and really need to cut down!

LeoDiCapricorn · 20/01/2025 21:54

Wow I'm a complete Diet Coke addict so I congratulate you on your amazing achievement.

What are you drinking instead?

WGACA · 20/01/2025 21:55

Boast away! Well done!

doggydesperado · 20/01/2025 21:58

I honestly don't know how I've done it because I wasn't really intending to cut back it just kind of happened when my teenage son told me to wise up and drink some water instead of "that rubbish" it kind of sunk in and may have indirectly given me the boot in the but I needed, and I must admit I really am not missing it. I've been drinking sparkling water with some dilute juice or good ole simple water instead.

Now to try give up chocolate 😝

I’m super impressed. Maybe i should try sparkling water

Noseylittlemoo · 20/01/2025 22:00

Oh wow! I have tried to cut down from 3 or 4 cans to less than 2 and to drink more water but I find it quite dull sometimes. I usually finish my cola by around 3pm , drink water during afternoon and then I end up having a cocktail in a can in the evening which must be just as bad/worse than diet coke!!

I was thinking this, not too sure yet, maybe some nice face creams.

I want to lose some weight so maybe some walking trainers to give me incentive xx

Woohoooo! A lovely bit of ownership over your health, well done!

ItsProperlyColdOut · 20/01/2025 22:05

Nice work!

I gave up a load of rubbish food some years ago and now I absolutely love the taste of home made potato crisps with pepper on them. They are the absolute best.

I just slice them up thinly with a mandolin slicer and lay them out on the wire rack in the oven and grind pepper on them. Then I cook them for 15 mins at 200C. They taste amazing.

My previous addiction was diet coke and bounty bars, so this is definitely better.

Well done there.

stayathomer · 20/01/2025 22:07

Well done op, I kicked the habit fully but have slipped back down in the last year, recently back on track and now enjoy the most satisfying can at the weekend. Enjoy it more than I ever did when I was thinking of my next coke as I guzzled some!!

ps it’s so hard and went through withdrawals, was snappy and wrecked for weeks but definitely worth it. Best of luck to people trying at the mo x

HappyNewFeckingYear · 20/01/2025 22:10

Well done, that's quite a feat.

Get the trainers.

doggydesperado · 20/01/2025 22:14

I'm wondering if I'll lose weight even though it's zero calories I wonder is it causing bloat?! I've got a really big belly that I hope to shift fingers crossed 🤞

I'm trying make better choices in 2035

That is amazing, well done.

ehb102 · 20/01/2025 22:21

Well done! I gave up.for Lent in 2012. On Easter Sunday my beautiful treat was no overly sweet brown fizzy water 😭

The mood lifting element is scary. I found some mints that gave me a very weird and obvious mood lift. They had the same ingredients as diet Coke (apart from the caramel). Best inadvertent quitting ever.

Of course now I drink gallons of sparkling water instead. But you can't be perfect 😮

Iwishiwasapolarbear · 20/01/2025 22:34

I would love to know more about the benefits people found giving up Diet Coke gave them? Need the motivation!

2035 made me smile. That's probably when I'll start too 😂

CountingDownToSummer · 21/01/2025 08:08

Well done op, can I ask if you feel any physical benefits?
I cut out all fizzy drinks in the summer and haven't noticed any difference. I'm not sure what I would as expecting tbf but I did expect to feel some benefits
