AI = all inclusive

I've just read a post about an AI holiday and was genuinely baffled for a couple of seconds wondering why the fuck anyone would go on an AI holiday and then clicked they meant the other sort of AI 🤣

Yes, I've had that brain glitch moment too!

Or Artificial insemination? Though I am hoping this would be obvious from the context and it isn’t really a used term now.

Or Al, as the name shorter revision of Alistair or Allison.

AI = Annual leave in my frazzled head.

I was for a while very confused about the number of FTMs on parenting forums. Amazing that there were so many trans men having babies.

That was until I realised it meant First Time Mum.

The confusion between AIs would have made a great episode of Only Fools and Horses. Del Boy goes into business thinking it's Artificial Intelligence, only to find it's Artificial Insemination...

Don't get me started on 'it girls' and IT.

Just as well few people need to discuss chemistry involving aluminium.

I once pointed out at work (IT) that, having grown up on a farm, my first thought was usually artificial insemination rather than artificial intelligence. This somehow led on to me relating a Young Farmers' visit to a local AI farm. I was explaining how the best bit was being allowed to pour liquid nitrogen on the floor, when I realised they (all male colleagues) were all just staring at me. I suspect they had stopped listening at the point that they were imagining 16yo me watching a bull having his semen collected. So they missed the point about liquid nitrogen, which was actually more interesting.

Obviously I had not thought about how they were likely to have reacted to thst memory.
