re-piercing ears - easy or tricky

Many years ago my ears were pierced - simple single lobe piercings which I haven't worn earrings in for around 15 years or so now.

I'm approaching a big birthday (possible mid life crisis 😅) and I'd like to get them re-pierced.

Question is, is this an easy thing to do? Any issues I need to be aware of?

I'd probably want to get seconds done also, in an act of 50's rebellion !

I got one of mine re-pierced. I went to a piercer in a tattoo shop and it was done with a needle

Depending on how long they were pierced before you took them out for 15 years, have you tried just putting a sharp earring through? I never wear earrings but they were pierced many many years ago and i just the other day put a sharp earring in and it worked!
It went most of the way through no problem then I kind of had to push it through the back, no pain or anything like that.

Not applicable if theyre fully closed over of course, but just a thought.

I had to get mine repierced as they closed after not wearing ear rings for 2 years. I got them done in exactly the same place and had no problems.

If the lobe still feels soft and squishy, no problems. If you feel there's a firm lump where the previous piercing was, they might need to pierce slightly to the side of it. Go to a professional who uses a needle, they'll sort you out.

I had to have mine repierced last year. I made sure that I went somewhere that did it with a needle rather than with a gun. It wasn't that easy to find somewhere! I ended up going to a tattoo parlour.

Thanks everyone - seems like tattoo place and needle re-piercing is the sensible solution.

This is good advice. And much better than what I have done twice which is i sanitise an earring and just shove it through- usually when slightly tipsy.
