Was this "link" a scam??

I got a message this afternoon telling me a "Royal Parcel" could not be delivered as my address on it was illegible due to damage, so asked me to click on a link to give my address. I wasn't expecting a parcel anyway, knew it was a scam, so then I saw a link below saying something like " This sender is not in your contacts, block and report to Apple " . I clicked it and the message disappeared. But now I feel a bit uneasy about clicking on that! What do you think?

Was it not your phone flagging up that they thought the message was spam and advising you to report and block the sender?

So this was a text message on an iPhone by the sounds of it? Do you remember if the link was separate from / outside the grey bubble containing the text message, or inside the bubble like it could be part of what they sent to you?

Here’s an example of a genuine link like this from Apple. As you can see, the link is completely separate from the grey bubble that contained the actual text. Do you remember if yours was like this?

Yes, it looked very similar to that last pic. I'm pretty certain it did say Report Junk, but Apple was mentioned too. Hopefully it's OK!

I got the identical message - and yes, it's a scam.

The message was headed up "Royal Mail Parcel Notification" and the sender was;- tinajir***soulmate-web-de

The sender email alone shouts scammer!

NEVER click on unsolicited links.

OP isn't asking if the original message was a scam but whether the other message to report and block the message was a scam (i think!)

Yes, I knew the message was a scam. But I worried the link underneath could be, too!

I had this today and immediately thought scam. I didn’t click on the link because I thought that somehow this would give the scammer details of - I don’t know; possibly my bank details. ID theft another possibility.
Rule of thumb is never click on links.
