Travel advice - Brittany

Help, I'm fairly clueless as I only recently started venturing out of the UK!
I want to travel to Landeuren (spelling?!) near Brittany in early August for a music festival.
I'm a capable driver, happy to do long trips and have adult kids so no little ones.
What's the best route? Mode of transport?
Amy tips about where to stay?

First thing is to decide which Channel crossing to do - the Britanny ferry ones can be expensive but are more direct - Dover - Calais is cheaper but then you have to drive to Brittany and you have tolls on the autoroutes and more time driving.

Landerneau, Fête du bruit?

One important thing is where in the UK you’re travelling from, are you closer to the channel ports or any airports ? Will you be camping at the festival and have camping equipment? Are you planning to just go to the festival and back or do other stuff while you’re in France? Sorry for all the questions!

So is driving via ferry the best option?
I'm such a novice at travel (despite my age!)

You've got a couple of choices, I suppose.

Do you need a car when you are there?

You can fly and hire a car
Take your own car on the ferry / tunnel

Or do it by plane / train and not have a car at all
