Help me clean my cooker please

It needs a thorough deep clean.
I've done the oven with a some oven clean and it's clean and sparkling now.
Can I use anything similar for the hob (some burnt on stuff). It's a black stove top and needs a really good clean and spray cleaner is not doing it.
I need to do the racks as well - the grid like things that go on the stove top.
I also need to clean the extractor hood and the filter things.
Could anyone recommend me some heavy duty cleaning stuff or any tips to get it cleaned up please?

I use fairy liquid and hot water on the hob (let it get the burnt on stuff wet) and then go in with a glass scraper like this Vellichor Metal Oven Scraper Tool - Clean Your Hob/Glass or Ceramic/Enamel Cooker Stove or worktop Surface | Heavy Duty Kitchen Cleaning Tool | Can Also be Used on Windows or for Paint Removal : Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools. It gets the burnt stuff right off with no scrubbing.

Extractor hood I again use fairy liquid and a non scratch sponge, and hot water. The fairy liquid dissolves any grease. Kitchen roll to dry so it isn't streaky. I soak the filters in hot water with (you guessed it) fairy liquid, use a basin rather than the sink so any grease isn't going down your pipes. Then pop in the dishwasher.

I put the hob racks in the dishwater.

For the extractor I use sugar soap wipes, you can buy them in DIY shops, but wear rubber gloves as they're harsh on skin

Just for Racks from`Amazon and other places. Brilliant. Leave overnight and they are like like new.👍

I use the overbrite (and other makes) cleaning kits. They have a big bag that you put the shelves and racks in and add a solution to overnight. By morning it's turned to brown treacle and your shelves are all shiny!!

Oven pride is great for the racks.

What's good for the inside glass door in the oven?

ProjectsGalore · 16/01/2025 18:56

Most glass doors lift out/off and so find your manual on line which shows you how to separate the two glass layers then scrub them. I slide mine apart and use a scourer or razor blade on mine, then I put them in the dishwasher and finally polish any smears or marks off with glass polish. I do my oven every week or so because it is high up and integrated and the sun streams straight onto it and seeing it grotty is horrible. By doing it every week nothing builds up so it's light maintenance. Disclaimer I was previously the person who hired in a man with an oven cleaning van to do a proper job once a year!
