Moving to N devon

We are moving to North Devon from Sheffield this year to live close to my in-laws family (they live in Braunton)
we are having to move our tattoo and piercing buisness too. My question is are we best to move to Illracombe, Barnstaple or any suggestions welcome. We don’t want to be in Brainton. Although I love my in-laws I don’t want to be in the same village lol.

we have a 22 year old daughter that will be visiting but still living up north.
any advice would be more than welcome. Xx

Braunton is lovely but can be quite quiet in the winter. You would do a lot better in Barnstaple for your business as its a big town which isn't seasonal and it's only a short drive from Braunton too. I wouldn't go to Ilfracombe. Its quite run down these days and is a crap drive too if you want to get anywhere, whereas Barnstaple has easy links to the M5 due to the new dual carriageway, and into cornwall via the atlantic highway. . Its also got better public transport and decent shopping facilities too.
