I’m in a council house does this count as a free repair or are they going to charge me

My mum lives in a council house. Anything to do with her heating, hot water, boiler, has or electric she rings the council and they come out. She's never been charged.

Heating and hot water faults should be covered by landlord be it council or private. Thats what you pay your rent for.

Phone your housing association repair line they will send an engineer. You won't be charged as boiler repairs are their responsibility.

Phone housing repairs and take it from there.
You may have to phone their chosen sub contractor but the repair won't cost you anything.

Its the councils job to fix it.

You should be able to get sorted today also for future reference housing repairs have an out of hours emergency service.
Hopefully it's a simple fix and you're back to being toasty soon.

They won't charge you, ring them ASAP.
