Apple Watch Challenge - move goal question

Hi all, I wondered if anyone can help. I have been in an apple watch challenge for a few years and haven't really paid much attention to what others are doing but I just clock up closing my own rings as best I can.

My move goal has always been the one that the watch has determined for me based on my weight - it usually puts it around 320 calories a day.

I have noticed that other members seem to do only a third or half the exercise I do and get 36 points on their move goal - does anyone know why this is?

So for instance yesterday I did nearly 3 hours of exercise and got my 36 move points but another person did only 80 minutes of exercise to get the same 36 points. Today I only walked for 60 minutes and have 12 points on my move goal, yet another person in my challenge has done 50 minutes of exercise and got 28 points for her move goal - it's like this regularly where they get double the amount of move points for far less exercise and I know the exercise they are doing isn't that far from what I do and I would say we were of equal fitness.

I am really confused as to why - is it because their move goal is much lower than mine?

Yes, basically. You can set it yourself. I increased mine from the standard setting to the calories of my favourite chocolate bar!
Today I have 423/370 Kcal on my Move goal (114%); 17/30min Exercise (56%) and 12/6 Hr Stand (200%).
DH has a higher move goal (500) and 40min exercise so the one time he challenged me to a competition, I beat him 😁

My move goal is 400 which I set myself as Apple though mine should be 460 which I thought was bit high. Your friend had probably set hers really low, I would ask her

It’s also not just about minutes of exercise but about how strenuous it is. So a 30 minute walk is going to earn you less points than a 30 minute run for example, despite being the same amount of time, you’ve burned more calories running so more points.
