UK holiday - single parent

This February half term.

I considered going abroad, but nowhere close has reliable weather. So I'm thinking the UK.

I want lots of kid-friendly things for DS aged 6 to do. I want it to feel like a holiday, not just going to stay in a hotel/bnb somewhere for the sake of it.

We do plenty close to home, soft play, zoos, water parks etc.

I've looked at Center Parks, but it's extortionate as always.

I'd love some suggestions of places we could have an action packed holiday.

We love a butlins break!

Thank you both!

Bluestone is just as expensive as CP in half term unfortunately.

We like Paignton in Devon. They have a few self-catering flats right near the town, which is right near the sea front, lots of days out to be had. Zoo, steam train, pennywell farm, boat trips around the bay.

Is he into fossils and things?
Rock Watch the junior arm of the Royal Geological Society do a very reasonably priced week in Dorset. It is rock and fossil hunting based with beach time included if the weather allows. It was £150 I think for both DD and myself, all food, board and transport included. It's at a field centre so not the lap of luxury but comfortable enough.

You could then continue your break and stay in Dorset or head to Devon or similar for the second leg of your break.

I booked a 1 bed cottage in summer last year for Monday to Friday for £600 - is that similar to CP?
We did share the bed though. I have a 6yr old and it was fab.
