Hardly surprising coming from the Guardian and the Resolution Foundation, a think-tank focused on improving the living standards of those on low-to-middle incomes.

There is no denying that housing, whether to buy or rent, is very expensive in the UK. Has been for years, partcularly in London and the South East. You can blame low interest rates, lax lending, right to buy, strict planning and failure to build social housing or alternatively, if you are a Labour supporter, 14 years of Tory rule.

Still there are plenty of migrants willing to come to Britain over the Netherlands, Germany and other more affordable parts of Western Europe.
