PAFT (parents as first teachers) / Flying start referral, for parent in need?

We’ve got a referral to flying start a PAFT course. Is this for parents deemed in need of support or for everyone? We were told they offer it to everyone but now I’m thinking we’ve been marked for extra support and it’s not something we can decline?

I've never heard of it. I've refused many a parenting course (sen parent, they always try and blame the parents first) and it's never been an issue.

Thanks, that must be really hard and you’re doing so much as a SEN parent alot of the time. We’ve got a baby and I’ve got a disability so wondered if we’d been “flagged” and couldn’t not engage. Will try it and see what happens.
We’ve got no concerns at all and enjoying being parents and was a long IVF 10 years so something that was thought out and very planned for being a parent.

Haven’t heard of that specific course, but my HV used to try to get me to go to every under-utilised drop in session and parenting course, just to keep numbers up (weaning courses, parenting courses, stay and play drop ins etc). I got the impression they needed enough people to go to keep the services running, and the kind of parents who really needed it were also the kind of parents who would not bother going.
