What would you think if you saw this while checking in to a hotel? (Lighthearted)

It appears to be living in an hole under the reception desk. It ran over my DH’s foot on its way back to its little home. Any guesses for which country? Special bonus if you can narrow it down to the hotel 🐀 Hint: 3 star hotel. One night costs approximately £135 (either in £ or the equivalent local currency 🤣)

STOP CALLING SYRIAN HAMSTERS Siberian hamsters 🤬🤬 sorry it winds me up 🤣🤣

It looks like the one in Scarborough? The grand one ? Can't remember, me and my husband went there once, we had a "basement" room it was like a fucking dungeon 😬😬

Manuel's pet wasn't a Syrian hamster.

Britannia? Possibly Coventry. I stayed there once, and it was exceptionally grim

The (male) staff member who entered my (female) room at 3am was not lovely.

Neither were the head office staff who refused to believe me or investigate a male member of staff entering a female's room in the middle of the night.

You shouldn't have to do this because men should stay out of your room, but until they do: https://howsarlock.com

Aww! Please come back and tell us where this is so that I can send him some cheese.

I’ll fire a guess - it’s a Premier Inn.

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 12/01/2025 23:43

I would offer to hire out CatOfHate and he would bring it to me at 2am and drop it on the duvet.

Please don’t let it be Torquay. I’ve booked a hotel there in April.

If you've not booked into Fawlty Towers you'll be okay.

Avenuesandboulevards · 12/01/2025 23:46

Premier Inn Nottingham

ErrolTheDragon · 12/01/2025 23:54

Did anyone else get an ad for a fancy boutique hotel before the Fawlty Towers clip?😂

The Norbreck Castle, Blackpool?

oakleaffy · 13/01/2025 00:22

I'd be getting the rat catchers in.
A small terrier will dispatch a rat within seconds.
What a filthy dump.

oakleaffy · 13/01/2025 00:26

Get a UV torch.
There will be bodily fluids aplenty in a dump like that.
Gordon Ramsey has shone these about in hotels and it makes one gag to see the crusty old stains in the rooms..

Didn't the Scarborough one fall off the cliff? I heard it caused tens of thousands of pounds of improvements.

Thé one that fell off the cliff was a different one. The one under discussion is the Grand.

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 13/01/2025 00:43

Manchester Britannia.

KingBoop · 13/01/2025 00:51

I fell asleep, because we had to drive quite a long way to get to…

….

…………….

The Aerotel Heathrow Airport 😭 This place must honestly be crawling with rats! Mice? Sorry hamsters.

I’m now awake thanks to the gift of perimenopause.

After it worked up the courage to leave its hidey hole, it darted in the direction of Caffè Nero, by the way. There is also an M&S Simply Food (and rodents?) as an option.

I think you should contact the person in charge of mousekeeping.

🤣🤣🤣

I suppose you're a captive audience if you've got to catch a plane in the morning, so not much incentive for the hotel to deal with the vermin.

@KingBoop come on then OP! dont leave in suspenders here! I am on my way to see " the mousetrap" in london this weekend!

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 13/01/2025 07:31

@KingBoop just checked aeotel on booking dot com and they have forgotten to include the pic or roland rat!!

KingBoop · 13/01/2025 09:20

The room stinks of fumes as well, not to
mention the broken bits and pieces and lack of any meaningful soundproofing. The rat was actually the least worst bit. Never again!!

😱😱 I almost booked that hotel for a night later on this year. So glad I didn't!

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 13/01/2025 09:37

@KingBoop you can add pics to booking .com I think. make sure you take pics of the broken bits and make sure booking .com sees the pic of roland the rat!
