What would you think if you saw this while checking in to a hotel? (Lighthearted)

It appears to be living in an hole under the reception desk. It ran over my DH’s foot on its way back to its little home. Any guesses for which country? Special bonus if you can narrow it down to the hotel 🐀 Hint: 3 star hotel. One night costs approximately £135 (either in £ or the equivalent local currency 🤣)

Mousehole (Cornwall ;)

Having been bitten by fleas recently in a UK chain hotel, it's possible they are all hanging out in the same establishment..

goneaway2 · 12/01/2025 20:40

I'd be more worried about the state of the carpet, door and wall. My parents immaculate house has gained a resident mouse that they've been unable to humanly catch. I like mice, I'd want to name it!

aquietlifeplease · 12/01/2025 20:40

Well a big rat ran over my child’s foot at school the other day and we are in England so I’m guessing it’s an English critter!

LocalHer0e · 12/01/2025 20:40

I wouldn't check in

AgualusasLover · 12/01/2025 20:41

Please don’t let it be Torquay. I’ve booked a hotel there in April.

Doggymummar · 12/01/2025 20:42

I would be checking out. It is cheaper than a Travelodge or Premier Inn, but not so good quality. Yuk, imagine what the non public areas are like.

wholettheturnipsburn · 12/01/2025 20:43

I'd not be checking in

OP what did the receptionist say?

LIZS · 12/01/2025 20:45

Envy Leave!

PullTheBricksDown · 12/01/2025 20:48

Now the country's been revealed I think you need to identify the chain. It doesn't look like Premier Inn coloured carpet to me. Though they do have those magnolia walls.

Is it a Britannia hotel OP? I stayed in one of those once and it was a dump!

Is it in Liverpool? There's a shocking hotel there that is regularly called out for terrible conditions.

66babe · 12/01/2025 20:53

Reminds me of the Travel Lodge near Bartley Green

BobBobBobbing · 12/01/2025 21:02

Colleague stayed at the travelodge in euston and had a dead rat in the shower. He tweeted it and they tried to claim in was a clump of hair. It was not.

The same place where a member of staff entered my room at 3am and they denied that too.

Will never stay in a travelodge again.

If ees rare Siberian hamsterrr, then Torquay.

That is NOT a Siberian hamster! They're chunkier, have white underneath and don't come in that colour on top. I have one! I know them well

The Euston one is grim, though the staff were lovely, which is particularly impressive since it must be like working in a combat zone.

Britannia Hotel?

It's cold outside, leave the poor mouse alone. My (perfectly clean) house had a mouse move in a few winters ago, not long after the cat died. Got some new cats pronto, not seen any mice since.

AMurderofMurderingCrows · 12/01/2025 21:20

Cuuuuute 😍😍

lcakethereforeIam · 12/01/2025 21:21

Another vote for Britannia.

coffeeandteav · 12/01/2025 21:23

Got to be Britannia. Absolutely awful.
