Roast chicken usually for me as not such a big fan of red meat. I'll usually have with it a pick and mix of whatever I fancy out of the following and depending on what I've got in:

Roast or mashed potatoes
Red/White/Savoy Cabbage
Cauliflower/sometimes Cauliflower Cheese
Broccoli
Brussel Sprouts
Yorkshire Puddings
Lots and lots of thick gravy!

Skirlie?

It's a Scottish oatmeal stuffing. Like white pudding but drier!

You need to roast your potatoes for longer!

I'd have been quite happy with them, personally - sometimes I have sensitive teeth and really crispy roasties can be a bit painful for me to crunch on ๐Ÿฅด
