Niece reminds me of my Grandmother

Hello. I don't think of my Grandmother that often she died in the 90s we were close growing up.

Last year my brother had a baby girl. When I see my niece I am not thinking of my Grandmother (her Great-Grandmother) but every time it shocks me that I remember my Grandmother/I don't know how my baby niece reminds me of my Grandmother all the time! It's strange as I'm not even thinking of my Grandmother when I see her/she just pops into my mind!

She maybe has a family resemblance that unconsciously reminds you of her.

these things don’t always work in pictures but when you see someone in real life you can have a familiar recognition but you can’t always put your finger on what exactly.

one of my nieces looked exactly like me when I was the same age but only for a couple of years then the resemblance wasn’t so strong. There was a picture of her that I thought was me as a child at first glance.

Yes perhaps it's that. It's a lovely feeling. Who would have thought it? My Grandmother was a very loving caring woman.
