DS is 6, and tends to be quite jealous. If he wants to play with another child on the schoolyard, but the other child says no, he will do things to get their attention, like step on their toes or grab their shoulder. I wouldn’t say it’s violent but it’s also not okay! I don’t know what to do about this.
We’ve talked about positive or negative attention and how everyone gets to choose when and who to play with. But this keeps happening. He’s made to sit out if it happens on the schoolyard and his teacher says that she is worried he will alienate his friends. (He is generally shy and has a couple of friends he plays with regularly, but not many). Any help or suggestions?
