Where to go in Spain?

I want to decide between Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia?

What city out of these 3 are the best

You probably wouldn't want to go to Valencia this year as they will probably still be cleaning up after the floods.

Barcelona is my favourite city. It had wonderful Modernista architecture - including Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell; a cable car up Montjuic, parks, galleries, a little beach and seafood restaurants.

But .... there has been a lot of publicity about anti tourism sentiment.

Not the answer you wanted but how about Seville instead?

Barcelona. Stay in a hotel on the coast and get the train into the city, it’s only €6

Or, if you're feeling adventurous - Extremadura! I ask people where in Spain they went, so far the answer has never been Extremadura.

Actually it depends when you’re going. Maybe not Seville in July/Aug.

Valencia

(There was no flooding in the city at all)

We did Barcelona, Madrid and Bilbao. Our favourite was Bilbao out of the three. I also fancy Seville and Cordoba. I want history and interesting cultures. Bilbao was really quite a fascinating place which I was surprised about.

Depends what you want from your holiday and when you plan to go.

Perhaps Barcelona with a trip to Sitges?

When? Timing is important.

Madrid is boring. Valencia great but probably not this year.

Barcelona very touristy and crime ridden.

Seville also very touristy but FABULOUS

Seriously folks.Valencia city is untouched by floods. Never was.

Seville not in summer. Easter lovely.
Madrid was not for me when I lived there. London is miles better!

OP I'd say def Valencia of the 3.

Next on my Spain travel list is Seville, maybe one to consider as pp say.

Not one of your choices, but can I suggest Alicante City, DH & I had a long weekend here, and really enjoyed it.

Have done Barcelona and Valencia. Seville beats them both hands down. Also liked Malaga.

Valencia is gorgeous in May, as is Seville.

Seville. But whatever you do don’t hire a car. First trip away with DH and we nearly split up there and then cos it was such a nightmare.

Safety wise I assume Barca is the worst out of the three?
