Thanks @SabrinaThwaite, after a bit of googling I now understand, this would have been much easier if they'd referred to the UK equivalent! I got the spangram entirely by default after getting all the other words with no idea what I was looking for, and initially thought they'd put the clue with the wrong puzzle!
