New sofa. Dislike it.

Yesterday we took delivery of our new sofa.
I loved it in the showroom. Bright lights over the top.
It's comfy and the size fits the rom.
It's a matt brown. The old one was a shiny leather.

But I don't like it. I feel it's a boring colour.
I've been today and got some bright cushions.
It still looks bland.
DH thinks it is lovely.

How can I get used to it

I hated mine at first too. Bloody love it now! Throws over one of the arms and maybe the back? I put a blanket box thing in front of mine with lots of stuff on it to draw attention away from the sofa.

Also put a tall reading lamp at one end to add some height and draw eye away from the sofa.

Really like it now though and it's so comfy I actually look forward to sitting on it at the end of the day!!

I’d pick matt leather over shiny any day.

Bland is good for sofas! They’re huge, you want them to blend in rather than stand out, unless it is meant to be the main room feature in which case you’d have got it in a bold velvet or something.

I mean, it's brown. What were you expecting from a brown sofa?

I just got my new sofa and it's humongous. Lol

Ds and I are too comfy though so I need to make it work.

I'm hoping I'll get used to it.

Maybe we're both just shocked by the change?

New things can taky some getting used to to. You’re expecting to see shiny fabric so Matt looks dull. Give it a couple of weeks.
