Venetian Riviera?

Pondering taking our kids (9 and 11) and my parents in May half-term - any experience/recommendations? My reasoning is that none of us like really hot weather but we do enjoy a relaxed, poolside half-board type holiday, and I'd really like to take my parents to see Venice before it's too late.

Ideally we'd like a smallish clean hotel that does half-board and has family rooms for us and the kids (or adjoining rooms). We'd like to visit Venice, spend some time by the pool(will it be warm enough?), take a boat trip, do some wandering etc - we won't be packing loads of sightseeing in though, realistically. The hotel doesn't need to be luxurious but my mother is a clean fiend...any recs (or critique!) very welcome please

If you post (or search) on the Holidays forum I am sure I remember some posters having lovely holidays based on the Venice Lido.

There are lots of campeggio along veneto coast which are fun with kids. You stay in a casa mobili (static mobile home). We stayed in 'garden paradiso' in jesolo in May it had a heated outdoor pool and its attached/adjacent to the beach too. Sea was tolerable in May! It was v clean etc and nothing like camping but kids can run around and theres things to do eg trampolines. Bibione is also a nice place, quite a lot hotels. Good luck!

This k you @BigWhiteRabbit - I love a campeggio and we do Eurocamp with the kids, but I think my parents would find a hotel more comfortable (although my experience of Italian hotel beds has not always been 5-star...)

I'll take a look at Bibione, cheers
