How to while away time on a plane?

I have to do a long flight soon (12 hours followed by 9 hours, with one short stopover). Please let me know your best plane activities! Preferably original ideas, not just “sleep” (which I will try to do but unsure if I will succeed).

Noise cancelling headphones…absolute game changer

There is a size limit so you can take small ones now (I can't remember the size). I use nail clippers though. Dental floss boxes are also something I've seen recommended if you don't want to risk losing scissors to security.
