Lie ins

Inspired by another thread...
When do children start to lie in past 7 or you can trust them to get up and play for an hour while you're still sleeping?
I've got a DD 2.5 atm and I'm dreaming of the day when mornings when I can wake up naturally.

About 6?

I'm at the other end of this scenario now!

I get up around 7am either the dog and my teens and young adults rise any time between 10am and 1pm. I'm also the first to bed!

My 7 and 11 year old are still in bed ... It will happen eventually. The 5 year old got up at 7.30.

From about 3 I used a magic star (a lamp on a timer) that they weren't allowed to leave their beds until it came on at about 7. Then they could come in for cuddles. From4.5 I used to make their breakfast ready (Weetabix) the night before and they would come and pour on the milk and eat it then play until 9am. About once a week. If they did it really well without me they could then watch some TV.
Now I ask them to wake up before midday 😁

My 4 year old does not yet do this, my 8 and 11 year olds do. They probably started around 6? They don't lie in but they know if it's passed 6.30 they can get up or go on devices. My DH and take it in turns with the youngest who gets up at 630, we can sometimes not see other two until gone 8 when they start to get hungry 😂

Probably when you start letting them stay up later, lie ins only really happen with a later bedtime (unless you are one the very lucky ones 😂) our 6 year old started sleeping until 8 ish when he turned 5 but that came with a bedtime of 8/8.30pm. I like not getting up early but if I’m in bed myself at 10 there isn’t much child free down time
