Help me find a holiday

Looking for somewhere in the UK where I can go for a relaxing break on my own in the next few weeks.
Budget is generous, looking for a nice hotel in a historic town or city or on the coast so I can wander about on my own safely.
Spa facilities and healthy food options would be nice.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Depends where you live, but I’d go to York or Bath.

Thanks. Can you recommend any hotels there?

Seaham Hall - nice spa and easy access to the Durham coast.

The Crown Spa hotel Scarborough is luxurious.

What is Scarborough like? I thought it was a bit of a dive for some reason?

not sure where you live but GWR have a sale on at the moment! You could get yourself a first class ticket as a treat and head to one of the cities on the list. I’d second Bath if it’s accessible, for mooching around, history, join a tour or whatever.

Thanks for the suggestion. I do love Durham City so I could visit there too.

The Grand in York is fabulous.
I’ve not stayed in any in Bath as we always stay with friends.

I stayed a night in The Gainsborough in Bath a couple of years ago and it was absolutely gorgeous. Definitely recommend.
