I often wonder if there’s an American architect out there who proudly tells people at dinner parties that his wife used to date Dan Fogelberg in high school?

I've heard of Dan Fogelberg and his hit called 'Longer' but the rest of your post has lost me! Sorry if this isn't the answer you wanted.

He has a great song called Same Old Lang Syne about bumping into a former girlfriend from his school days at a supermarket on Christmas Eve.

The lyrics go-

She said she'd married her an architect
Who kept her warm and safe and dry
She would've liked to say she loved the man
But she didn't like to lie

Apparently, it’s based on a true story.
