Going back to maiden name

Please can someone tell me how to go back to my maiden name? Do I just change it myself with everything or do I have to wait for the divorce to be finalised? Or do I have to do it by deed poll?
When I change it with the bank, will it mean my wage and standing orders people set up to pay money to me will not go in? I’m self employed and don’t want to mess up!

You can call yourself by any name you wish as long as it is not done for fraudulent purposes. A deed poll is just a contract with one party in it, basically you promising to do something, in this case, to be known by a new name. If you want a deed poll to show the bank etc, just download one from the internet and fill it in.

I used deed poll.

Changed my passport using the certificate then used my new passport for everything else that needed photo ID.

Good plan. I’ll do deed poll then!
