New Year’s resolution?

One of mine is simple and achievable. Stop ‘saving’ things for a non existent special occasion!

aka light the expensive candle you bought as a treat for a promotion. Wear the sweatshirt you bought from M&S that was last on the rail and now sold out!!!

I always think oh I best save that this etc, and have so much stuff unused/un touched.

So tonight I’m having some of my champagne I got for new years (but didn’t drink as I fell asleep at bed time with my toddler… lol) a nice hot bubble bath and glass of my favourite drink

What are your New Year’s resolutions :)

That's a good one.

Mine is that I've quit fizzy drinks for the sake of my crumbling teeth.

I haven't actually given it much thought this year what any resolutions would be.
However I'd like to congratulate you on yours OP.
A long time ago I also came to the conclusion that there was no point in saving things for special occasions.
I helped my best friend clear the house of her mum, after she had died.
It was very sad that there were drawers and cupboards in a spare room filled with beautiful linens, candles which at one time had been very nice but we're now faded, not even nice enough to donate.
Her mum had some handbags, and clothing still with the tags on them, deep inside the closets.
Some items had been given to her mum by my friend herself, so it was hurtful to her to see them packed away where no one would have seen them in years.
I think a lot of, especially women tend to do this, and I decided to live for today and enjoy what I have!

I lobe that @Sophieees, a nice positive resolution.

I don’t do resolutions because I always fail!

I used to start diets and fail before the first week was out!

My only thought this year is to say yes to more things, do my bucket list stuff, don’t keep putting things off. This comes from losing my dbro this year suddenly. It’s made me realise tomorrow isn’t guaranteed for any of us so don’t put things off!

I read somewhere keeping things ‘for good’ means that on some level you feel you are just not worth it. I have also cleaned a bereaved relatives house and I worked in charity shops & the amount of stuff being donated that was kept ‘for good’ is heartbreaking.
I think it’s a habit one gets into and it’s hard to break.

I have a beautiful long coat I have worn 4 times an ex bought me that cost many hundreds of £. I realised this winter it is now 6 years old. I never wore it as it was ‘too good’. I intend wearing it tomorrow.
cheers for reminding me OP and enjoy your champagne 🥂

That's an excellent resolution OP.

Mine is to stretch more. I did my back in twice last year and I need to do something to protect it.
