Edinburgh - where to eat?

After an awful final 6 months of 2024 we've booked a last minute trip to Edinburgh to kick off a hopefully happier 2025. Please can I have some recommendations of lunch places suitable for a nice bite to eat with kids (4&7) in tow fairly central?

Auld Hundred Edinburgh - Pub & Dining Room -Family friendly pub (they do a kids main, ice cream and drink for £6)

If they like mash potato Makers Mash is great.

Yes , Makers Mash is fab ! They take bookings but we were too late .
Got a 'walk in' though ! Fab food and nice staff .
