Stay with hairdresser or go elsewhere.

I've been going to my hairdresser for nearly 15 years.
It's a small 2 lady salon. Politely id call it an older person's
place.
Just lately I feel as though there is something missing
from my haircut.
It's short, sides are above my ears and a bit longer on the top.
And I have blonde highlights.

I keep thinking of going to another hairdresser but chicken out.
I can't ask for recommendations on the town Facebook page as
she or her daughter will see. Or the other hairdresser.
All my friends have long hair.
Short hair needs to be cut correctly.

Can a friend ask for you as if they are.considering a change to short hair?
I also have short hair and it's key to have a good hairdresser.

Have you mentioned this to your hairdresser? Maybe a photo of what you want incase she is getting something different from your explanation.

Can you look up some other nearby salons and read the google reviews? I would definitely try a change, that can be good.

@BlueBlueBerries I have taken in photos of what I would like.
Recently as October. That time I came away disappointed.
Tried again in November. That time was ok but Decembers
cut and colour look boring.

I would definitely go elsewhere then, you've given them several chances and not been happy either time

Change the hairdresser! Can you ask anonymously in fb group, have a see if anyone has asked it before/ recently or if you're definitely going to change, ask yourself as you're not going back to the old one anyways.

I’m having to do the same. I gave him a photo and he did as he liked and it wasn’t the first time so I’ve booked an appointment with someone who came highly recommended. Unfortunately I’ve got my next 3 appointments booked in with the crap one so I’m going to have to ring and cancel them all, no chance of making an excuse to cancel one and then not rebooking.

Meandhimtogether · 02/01/2025 18:52

@PinkTonic fortunately I only book one appointment in front so it will be easy to cancel (get DH to phone 😂)
Just need to find another one. DD is going to post on her Facebook page for recommendations.
