Anyone know how to get the awful smell out of fake leather?

DC got a "pleather" jacket - it absolutely stinks! Fishy! Google reveals it to be a common problem but we have tried hanging it outside, and leaving over night covered in bicarbonate of soda as suggested...no change! Has anyone had this and been successful in removing it?

Oh god, I had this with a bag I bought! I returned it and didn't even attempt to get rid of the smell, it was unbearable 🤢

It's awful isn't it!! Can't return now unfortunately. It wasn't expensive but feel sorry for DC as they can't wear it!

It really is, I did halfheartedly spray it with some febreeze but quickly realised that wasn't cutting it.
You might have to cut your losses 😔

It's spending another day outside tomorrow then I think that's it!
