Long story short, but the garage that did the MOT and service on our car had a really stupid accident and has caused a lot of damage to our car. They've provided us with a courtesy car and are arranging for the car to be taken to a body shop for a full assessment to see whether it can be fixed or is a write-off.
The garage has said we don't need to inform our insurance as they'll go through theirs, but we're not sure about this. We're concerned it'll cause issues in future if we need to claim for something else and our insurance discover there was an undeclared accident. OTOH, there's a fair chance our insurance will write the car off straightaway. If you've been in a situation like this, how did you proceed?
