Escape room party

Has anyone hosted an escape room party for kids? It’s my DD’s 10th birthday soon, she suggested escape room but there isn’t one in our town. I’m thinking a kit for a DIY escape room at home for her and say, 5 friends. Any hints and tips?

Hello, I’m sorry you didn’t get any responses…but I’ve got exactly the same question now for my own DD’s 10th birthday in December so wondering what your experience was in the end?? We’re in London so there are lots of escape rooms but they seem to all be approx £45+ per head, so for our family plus a couple of her friends it would be so much. She LOVES puzzles and mystery. New ideas!!

We didn’t do it in the end, we went to a local craft place instead. We may do in January for her 11th though as she still hasn’t been to an escape room and brings it up from time to time. There are kits on Etsy so I think we might give it a go. I think the key would be for you as the organiser to read over all the clues/ activities first to be familiar with it so you could guide them if they get a bit lost with it. Also, maybe have a break away activity for a change of pace then come back to the escape room set up if needed. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
