Is it normal to still feel like this?

I had the flu like symptoms just about 2 weeks ago. Congestion, fever, chills, no energy, cough etc. After about 7 days of my fever being at least 38 I saw a dr and got antibiotics.

It’s been about 2 weeks since it all started and while I do feel a lot better my temp is still sitting between 37.5-38 and I keep getting these horrible hot/sweaty episodes whenever I try to exert myself even slightly. I’ve also hurt my ribs from coughing so in pain with that.

Does this sound normal for a viral infection? It’s practically impossible to get a gp appointment at this time of year anyway so wondering if I should just ride it out.

I also thought I could have a uti but I handed a sample in and it came back clear.

Anyone have a similar experience and can put my mind at rest?

A relative is only now beginning to feel better after several weeks of exactly the same symptoms. She’s had two lots of antibiotics a few weeks apart and a trip to A&E for a chest X-ray (sent by the gp)
Are you taking paracetamol help with the temp?
It would be worth trying to get an appointment if there hasn’t been much improvement. I hope you feel better soon Flowers

I had a nasty virus recently that dragged on for a long time. Did you get antibiotics for a chest infection? If your temperature is still not going down then the GP would want to see you again I feel. Sometimes you need different antibiotics.

I got antibiotics for a possible secondary infection but the dr said my chest sounded clear. I think she just gave me the antibiotics because I had a high temp for more than a week. My cough has got a lot better so I don’t think I still have a chest infection.
